MEMBER'S AREA

If you have a love of the Australian outdoors and want to share your experiences with a friendly group of like-minded people, then the Wesley College Four Wheel Drive Touring & Recreation Club is for you. Originally membership was open to all members of the Wesley College Community from all Wesley College Campuses, that is pupils, former pupils and their families, as well as Wesley staff. However, the Club now welcomes membership applications from people with an interest in four-wheel driving from outside the Wesley College community.

The Club organises a range of 4x4 activities in a family setting including:

  • Day 4WD trips from Melbourne

  • 4WD weekend getaways in the Victorian High Country

  • Outback 4WD touring to some of the most remote corners of Australia

In addition, there are regular get-togethers in local restaurants and an annual wine bottling. The Club meets at 7:30pm on the fourth Thursday of every month during term time in the Senior College staff common room at the Glen Waverley Campus. New members are always welcome.

In recent years the club has organised 4WD trips to Fraser Island, Cape York, Broome, the Simpson Desert, the Birdsville Track, Innamincka, the Victorian High Country, Robe, Moreton Island and the Flinders Ranges.

The Club is committed to the principle of responsible four-wheel driving and is a member of Four Wheel Drive Victoria. The Club is also a member of the VKS-737 4WD Radio Network and has a long range HF radio for use by members on trips to remote areas.

Benefits of being a member
  • Travelling safely in a group with experienced trip leaders
  • The opportunity to explore the beauty of remote and unique places in Australia
  • Family activities including bush BBQs, camping and other social events
